It’s the goal of Kindred Church to be a place where you will come to know and be known by God.
It’s our mission to be a loving community where you will feel welcome, accepted and ultimately, come to know God.
We’ve been called to love deeply, serve selflessly, boldly impart hope, foster authentic relationships and provide a safe space for all.
Over 80 years ago, the El Cajon Blvd Church of Christ saw a desperate need to plant churches all over San Diego, and in just over 12 years they planted 11 churches. Some of those church plants, planted other churches, because they also saw the same
incredible need. The La Mesa Church of Christ was one of those church plants. But like many congregations, over time, the urgency in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ was over shadowed by maintenance; maintaining numbers, maintaining
buildings, and maintaining member needs and relationships. Now, to some degree, none of these things are inherently bad. But they distract us from what is meant to be our main focus. They distract us from taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to a world that
is desperately searching; searching for meaning . . .
searching for a place to belong . . .
and ultimately, searching hope.
At kindred we are seeking to change this. As a people, we want to reach out to all those who do not know Jesus in our community.
God Desires to Be Known
“I will give them a heart to know that I am the Lord, and they shall be My people and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart.” — Jeremiah 24:7
We Are Called to Love God and Others Unconditionally
And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” — Mark 12:30-31
Come As You Are
“So now you are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.” — Ephesians 2:19
“If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest. Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light. — Matthew 11:28-30
Whether you help through prayer, monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading the word,
we couldn't accomplish our mission without you!
